Well how about that.

My ex-neighbour Donny, who was evicted last month, and with who I had a rather... checkered... relationship, sent me a card thanking me for helping his Mexican wife when she was visiting last month.

The card reads:
8/20/2008 A.D.
Dear Bro;
Muchas gracias again for helping encourage my wife while she was visiting. May the Great Spirit guide you!
Love, Donny

That was mighty nice of him!

Just a heads up to let you know that Donald Stevens (Apt. D2) called the police to the apartment three (3) times today, same thing as last week.

For the past week, I've been doing what the police recommended, to stay away from him, not even talking to him. That cease fire lasted until this morning, when he spitefully threw away a cooking pot I had left in the sink to soak overnight. Outraged, I took the pot, banged on his door with it, and shouted at him, "What the **** is wrong with you?!?" He immediately called the police, saying I was threatening him, and telling them I was dealing drugs out of my apartment (not true.) This set off an all-day argument that resulted in two more police calls, each time him claiming I was threatening him.

At no time was violence ever threatened.

Each time, the police arrived, talked to Mr. Stevens, and since this was obviously a domestic dispute with no actual violence going on, left.

This is getting very old, very fast. The police are getting tired of Mr. Stevens calls, I'm getting tired of him using the police to harrass me, and no doubt you are tired of hearing about this.

It's increasingly apparent that he and I cannot get along anymore, and live in the same apartment with a shared common room. Is there another apartment in the building you could move him to?

Thanks, and sorry that this is becoming a problem.

The police just left again, third time he's called them on me today.

Officer Colby (who was here for both visits last week) arrived shortly, and when I greeted him at the door, he asked what's up, and I said, "Same shit, different day."

*yawn* Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt.

He talked to us both, and recommended we talk to the property managers to see if one of us can be moved to a different apartment in the building.
So the police just left (again), after Donnie called them again. I went into the kitchen to take something out of the oven I was baking, and Donnie was on the porch getting his bicycle. I sat on the chair next to the door, and asked him - in a level, even tone - why he threw the pot away, and why he lied to the police (He had told them I was selling prescription drugs out of my apartment, a bald-faced lie. And he told them my friend, Kokii, was one of my customers).

He started screaming at the top of his lungs, "HELP! HELP! POLICE! CALL 911! HELP I'M BEING ATTACKED! POLICE!"

This guy is completely off his rocker.

The police didn't even bother to talk to me this time, just took his statement and left.

Then he went off to church, and I decided to give him a taste of his own medicine, and threw his toaster and cooking pot and frying pan in the trash. See how he likes that.

The police just left (different officers this time), the third time Donnie's called them on me in less than 2 weeks.

Last night I made some noodles, and put the cooking pot in the sink to soak overnight.

When I got up this morning, the pot was in the trash can, put there by Donnie, no doubt. (He later admitted to the police he did it.) He did it in a pique of spite.

Pissed off, I grabbed the pot out of the trash can, banged it on his door, and shouted, "WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM?!?!?"

So he called the police.

They came, and told me the same thing they always tell me, stay away from him, which I had been doing, up until this morning.

This is getting really old.
On the advice of the police, I have written and mailed the following letter to the landlord:

For the second time in two days, the Bellingham Police Dept. has been here because my paranoid neighbour/housemate, Donnie, keeps calling them on me.
Cut for drama )
