I'm so lost. I don't know what to do with myself.

Without Internet, I have little to keep me occupied. I have few friends, none nearby, that I can go hang out with. Normally, this is not a problem, because I can keep myself occupied with information or games, or interact with my friends online. But now...

Who am I? What am I? Without Internet I feel stranded, lost.
The Internet is about to become much more interesting.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has just approved unlimited new top level domain names, and not just in Roman characters, starting in 2009.

.atheist anyone? How about .pagan?
Is anyone else as weirded out by this as I am?

This doesn't feel like an accident. This feels like information warfare, or perhaps PsyOps. The timing and geographical location of these cuts seems more than a little coincidental.

According to the Internet Traffic Report, Iran is being hardest hit by this disruption.

I am really *really* suspicious about what's going on here. And despite what a lot of people are saying (tongue-in-cheek) on BoingBoing, I really don't think it's Godzilla.
Comcast cut my Internet connection for nonpayment a couple of days ago, so I ended up being cut off from the world (eeep!) It's just as well, because I was getting pretty pissed off at Comcast because of their refusal to honour net neutrality, and the recent news that Comcast is actively interfering with P2P traffic like BitTorrent and Gnutella. Plus they charge $50 a month for cable internet here, and I just can't afford it.

So bye bye Comcast, hello Clearwire! The speed is almost as good, and it's about $20 less a month. Thanks to my neighbour Wayne, and my friend Matt Endrizzi, I'm now up and running on the Clearwire wireless network!
