So, I got up this morning, showered and dressed in my suit and tie, and prepared to go to my weekly meeting with my DVR counselor.

And just as I was ready to head out the door, I got an email from her office, saying she was unexpectedly out today.

Oh well. I'm already up and dressed to the nines anyway, so I might as well make the best of it!

Called Kelly Services and Manpower today to let them know I am available for temp work this week. No word yet on the job lead from Kelly.

I finished taking the ProveIt! test for Express Personnel Services on Sunday over at Ted's place. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, 2 of the 3 tests -- Word and Excel -- don't work on the Mac, so I had to seek out someone with a PC to do the tests, hence Ted. (I had to go over there anyway to help him put an ad for a BBQ grill he wanted to sell on Craig's List.)

Still haven't heard back from Express, yet, tho.
Went a-huntin' for a job today. O woe is me.

Printed up my résumé all prettyfied, and got myself gussied up in my new clothes and hit the local temp agencies.

Manpower was first, where the woman seemed impressed and said I presented myself well, but said I may be "too hairy" for some offices, and the job market's flat right now. Whatever. I was still in their system, and she said it only said good things about my performance at previous job placements.

Kelly Services was next, where I got back on the active list, and got the contact info for the Kelly Tech office in Seattle.

Then I went to Express Personnel, filled out one an application, and handed it in with my résumé. The lady was impressed with my résumé presentation. She said they'd call me Wednesday to set up an interview.

Which is great, except that means I had to email Bruce and tell him I couldn't go with him to American Ridge Wednesday. I hafta be a grown-up. Whine whine whine.
