I went to an Asian buffet for lunch today with some of my DVR classmates, and at the end of the meal, I cracked open my fortune cookie to find this very strange piece of advice:

You may fall into a spell of shininess -- Don't buy it.

"Spell of shininess?" What the hell is "shininess?" I don't get it. Is this some sort of slang I am not aware of? It doesn't even work with adding "in bed" to the end of it!
