No good deed goes unpunished

During today's "good deed" adventures at Ted's, my cell phone somehow got crunched. The screen is completely shattered.

Now, I haven't had actual cell service on the thing for over a year now (can't afford it without a job), so no big loss there, but I've used the thing faithfully for other purposes. With its demise, I no longer have a pocketwatch, alarm clock, calculator, address book, and worst of all, camera. All of these functions still work, of course, but without a screen, it's all useless.

The phone lasted a little over 2 years.

So.

Anyone want to buy me an iPhone for my birthday? ;-)

A bit of good news

The phone was a Samsung, and Samsung has a mobile phone take-back program, so that they don't end up in landfills. You just print out a postage-paid label at their website, and they'll take back the phone for disposal, at no cost to you!

I wish more companies did this, with product end-of-life take-back services...
