I miss my Captain.

I sat in class today, trying to take notes, but my mind kept wandering back to Dylan.

I miss him so.

I want him. I NEED him.

But he doesn't want me.

I don't want to be a fool, throwing myself after someone who cannot truly appreciate what I have to offer.

That would be pathetic.

I suppose I should remember the old poem, about if you love someone, set them free. If they come back to you, they're yours. If not, they never were.

*sigh*

You looked surprisingly chipper today. I figured you would have a black cowl of doom wrapped around you, be soaking wet despite the sun and trailed by small black crows. I am glad I got to hug you twice. If you need more, just let me know.

I prefer "Living well is the best revenge". There is little more satisfying than running into someone who dumped you when you are happy and doing very well. As a matter of fact, they were holding you back.

Besides: if he doesn't want you, he doesn't get to have you. His loss.

I'm just catching up on several weeks of LJ, and I'm so, so sorry to hear about your Captain's decision. My heart hurts for you both. And I applaud you for not letting the breakup stop you from finishing school or managing your health.

I wish Mac and I could give you a long, long hug. Guess we will save it up for graduation, and maybe come up again soon after that. If there's anything we can do from afar, please let me know.
