PAIN!

My right knee has just about locked into position, I can't even begin to bend it anymore. It doesn't appear very swollen, but it's generating a lot of heat -- it's noticeably warmer to the touch than the other knee.

I'm pretty much bedridden, now. I can't even hobble to the bathroom.

No, I don't think so. Gout usually shows up in my big toe.

This feels like someone has driven a steel pin through my knee... probably a voodoo doll somewhere out there with my name on it! ;-)

It can strike any joint, but yes it is usually toe. Mom's gout spread up her leg to her ankles. Red with heat. With that type of pain it sounds like gout. Unless you tore a tendon or something.

If it is gout, drink a lot of water. Mom can stop an attack if she forces a lot of water. In the last entry I meant to say up her foot to her ankles. When she had that attack she was on gout pills for a year.

OMG! I think you're right about gout! I had thought that it was the osteoarthritis, but I didn't have any unusual wear. And I only usually get gout in my toe, and only after I've eaten a lot of meat.

Then it dawned on me:

I ate a whole turkey in the week between Christmas and New Year (when the knee started acting up). Including... drumroll please... organ meats!

Yup yup yup. It's gout. i always drink lots of water. Need to get some cherry juice.

Thanks! Well now that I know what it is (Gout) I know it will pass in 2-3 days as long as I drink lots of water and cherry juice.

I wish I could, but my freezer doesn't do ice!
