I *finally* got Internet access reinstalled at home! Comcast had disconnected it over four months ago, because I hadn't paid the cable bill (funny how they do that), and it took me a while to pay off the money I owed them to get it turned back on.
Four months is a LONG time for me to go without Internet access at home. (Dial-up or DSL was never an option for me because this apartment isn't wired for a telephone land line - I've always just used a cell phone for calls in the time I've lived here.)
But now that I am working this long-term, decent-paying temp job at McGraw-Hill Publishing, I was able to pay off Comcast and get the cable service reconnected.
During the past four months, I've gotten on the 'net when I could, at the library, or at friend's houses, or when I could sneak it in at work... but it never seemed to be enough time to get everything I needed to get done online. That's why you haven't heard much from me online lately.
And you would not BELIEVE the amount of backlogged email I have to answer...
