Heard this morning on CBC radio:

The U.N. reports that a growing number of gay Iraqis are being targeted, kidnapped and killed in a Fatwa issued by The Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq - an Iranian organization that has come into Iraq after the U.S. invasion.

Sunni militants are targeting gay men, setting up traps, including using message boards and chat rooms to ferret them out and kill them.

When homosexual Iraqi men are going to the Americans, begging for protection, they are being turned away.

This is why I pay attention to the Canadian & British press. I haven't heard anything about this on the U.S. news.

In a lot of pain

I've been in an excruciating amount of physical pain over the past two days. My right foot has swollen up and is incredibly painful to step on. I've been hobbling around, barely able to make it to the bathroom. Going to work today was a REAL challenge. Thank the gods for the ADA - Americans with Disabilities Act - passed in the 1990s, which mandated that all office buildings be accessible... and have elevators.

The ADA was at least one thing that the U.S. has done right.

Anyone nearby have a cane that I could borrow? Or a wheelchair?
