Turns out the Mac's iChat client has built-in Jabber capability, which means I can use LJ Talk. Now if I could figure out how to use it...

Cool, thanks

Awesome. I didn't know LJ had integration with Jabber. I'm all hooked up, now.

If you're an OSX user, you might also like Adium. It's an IM client like iChat but it also supports MSN and Yahoo. Adium does integrate with your address book like iChat and also mostly looks like iChat.

Sweet. I'm trying out Adium. So far so good - looks like the only thing that it doesn't have that iChat does is webcam support.

Thanks for the heads up!

I forgot about the webcam support. That is a sad situation. Work gave me one of those new Apple laptops with the built-in camera but I haven't got to use it, yet.

Adium is just a Mac OSX port of Gaim (a Linux/Windows IM client). Once Gaim adds webcam and voice support (they are almost done, maybe), then Adium will also have webcam/voice.
