For the past couple of days, I have not been able to get these two pictures out of my mind. Don't know why I have been obsessing about them, but there's something just so damn ...compelling... about these images.
I encountered these on this site a couple of days ago, but they've apparently been circulating around the net for a couple of years. They're authentic, and yes, the dog did survive (after a very expensive visit to the veterinarian).
Normally, encounters between porkys and dogs aren't so... dramatic. To get this many quills in its face, this dog must have tried to attack it again, and again, and again, and again... I guess some dogs just don't know when to give up.

My first thought on seeing those was "wow! what a provactive piece of scupture, because surely no actual dog would get into that situation". Apparently living with the World's Dizziest Husky didn't prepare me for what other dogs are capable of.
I'm glad you said the dog survived, that would have bothered me forever.

After I saw this image, I went out on the net looking for images - mostly on vet sites - of other dogs that had run-ins with porkys. Rarely do they ever look this bad. For most dogs, 8 or 9 quills in the nose are enough to make them turn tail and run. But this dog... this dog wouldn't give up... something about the breed, I guess.

This is insane... there's a part of me that wishes the porky had poison in its quills. This dog is beyond stupid.
Yes... I am cat person. And I have seen my cats do some pretty dense ish... don't let a crow fly too close to the window, but man!
