I knew that at least one person was able to name the 53 countries of Asia. Practice does make perfect. (Grrrr...) ;-)

Gaza & the West Bank as two individual "countries" threw me for a while - I kept trying Palestine or Palestinian Territories. Also the map of the SE Asian countries is off -- the placement of the names don't appear in the most accurate places. And Hong Kong was a surprise.

Funny thing is, I was primed for this meme. Just a couple of weeks ago, when the problems in Myanmar started, I went to Google Earth to learn about the geography Myanmar. Ended up memorizing all of the countries of SE Asia. So when this LJ meme came along, I aleady had part of Asia memorized.

This has been great. As a result of this meme, I've finally got the "stans" down, can identify Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan as a grouping, and place the Maldives on a map.

I'm starting to be able to remember how to spell Kyrgyzstan. I keep forgetting the Philippines, and misspelling Laos.

...I wonder if there's any quizzes like this online for Africa... and my South American Geography isn't as strong as it could be.

Please tell me you got China.

South America only has 13 countries in it. You'd have to throw in Central America and the Caribbean to bump it up some, or just the whole of the Americas.

Same problem with Canada: 10 provinces and 3 Territories; and if you can't type them in less than a minute, we'll have to have a talk, Mister. ;-p

Now, the 70-Some districts of Russia, or the Provinces of China, they'd be nasty for most Westerners.

I'm studying Cental & South American Geography right now. I found an AWESOME site for this at http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/Geography.htm. My knowledge of geography has been increasing exponentially over the past couple of days!
