I was awoken this morning at 5:30 am by the sounds of fire trucks in my building's parking lot.
Turned out the heater had ignited some papers over in Witt's apartment, on the other side of the building.
They put the fire out, and the damage appears minimal, but that felt like a close call.
I knew Witt was hoarding newspaper because his storage unit is full of it. But now I've seen inside of his place, and it's scary. I overheard the fire dept. telling him he needs to clean out all the burnables he's hoarding.
Sheesh.
