The only reason I don't want a setup like that is that I would never leave the net if I did. I value too highly that getting online has to be a deliberate, conscious act requiring inconvenience. I can get kinda OCD about interaction, and if I'm online, I wouldn't get anything out of also being outside (except for some exercise).

When I was on my PCT hike, I also thought I'd have a lot more spare brainpower than I did. But virtually all of my mental processing power went into the hiking I was doing; looking around, planning for the next rest break, measuring mileage and distance, matching landmarks to maps and directions, making certain my body wasn't degenerating in ways that would slow me down. (Granted, I was also pushing myself a lot harder.) If I'd had the net, that would have been a lot less incentive to keep up my pace and push through the worst of it.
