First the Canadians expose our national stupidity with "Talking to Americans," and now the Australians are doing it, too.

Wake up America! The rest of the world thinks you're a JOKE! And you know what? YOU ARE!

*sigh*

I wish I had been born somewhere else. Someplace civilized.

At the risk of sounding like a stupid American, "Hella".

Hi, my name is Barbara, and I don't want to be a joke to the world any more.

Lol. I hope so. Let's enroll the country!

I hope they cover "How to Travel Like A Normal Human Being and Not Like an Idiot" in that seminar. I almost never admit to being American when I'm abroad. Yeah, i know I should be "Fighting the stereotype" and all, but I get so sick of explaining to people that 'yes, I can communicate in a language other than my native American (it's not English, no matter what people tell me), yes, I will treat you and your culture with respect, and no, I don't think you're mixed up because you don't have a Starbucks IV in one arm, and a McDonald's IV in the other.' ^_^;;

Boy do I understand that. When I leave the U.S., I am Canadian. Except when I am in Canada, in which case I am constantly apologizing for being from the U.S..

Heh, I started doing the same thing in 1997 when I visited Egypt.
